My desire as an artist is to create pots that serve not only as a vehicle for the fine taste of food but also to transcend visual pleasure and to stimulate appetite. The work I make is a pedestal for food. My intention is to highlight the act of eating as a vital component of everyday life, enriching our appreciation of the food and the ambiance of the space.

I create highly refined work that consists of simple lines and neutral colors—a minimal aesthetic that harmonizes with the domestic surrounding. My many influences include modern interior design and architecture as modes of framing the contents of a space.

Proportions of volume in forms such as serving dishes, plates, cups and bowls are carefully considered when I design my work. Through these investigations, I align the act of eating and am aware of the serving dishes as an extension of a sensory and communal experience.
