Stefani Threet was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Alfred University and continued her education at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.
Stefani lived in Oaxaca, Mexico, from 2007 to 2011 and visits frequently. Her time spent in Oaxaca creates color inspiration for her work. She is currently a full-time potter in Philadelphia and has her work represented in museum shops, galleries, and exhibitions across the country.
Stefani has created many initiatives to create community among artists, including the creation of the artist cooperative The Independent Makers of Philadelphia (@imophiladelphia), an Instagram series called “In Our Studios,” and her newest venture to open Ceramic Concept, a ceramic- centered storefront in Philadelphia focusing on the works of women, artists of color, and locals.
