The Clay Studio is pleased to present a guest exhibition by the Baltimore Clayworks featuring over twenty clay artists, May 31st through June 20th. The opening reception is Sunday May 31st from 2 to 5 pm. Gallery hours are Monday thru Friday 2 to 6 PM, Saturday 1 to 4 PM. This exhibition marks the beginning of what we hope will be a series of exchange exhibitions with clay collectives located in other cities. The Clayworks will host The Clay Studio in April of 1988 in Baltimore.

The Clayworks was founded in 1978 by a group of potters who had met and worked together at Towson State University. In 1980 they moved into their present building, a former library, with the assistance of the city of Baltimore. The organization of the Clayworks includes studio space for 18 artists, a gallery, school and clay supply business.

The majority of the Clayworks' artists produce vessels but there will be a strong represntation of sculptural work included in the exhibition. The show will provide an excellent opportunity to gain an overview of the vital ceramic scene in our neighbor city.
