30th Anniversary
Jan 7th - Jan 28th, 2024
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Claymobile is our mobile community engagement program that collaborates with schools, summer camps, neighborhood organizations, and various social service agencies throughout the region. The program provides innovative, hands-on learning experiences that use the tactile medium of clay to nurture imagination, critical thinking, and persistence. Since its inception in 1994, Claymobile has served over 50,000 youth and adults.
Today, Claymobile is a dedicated team of six teaching artists focused solely on community engagement, teaching 860 classes at over 105 sites and serving over 5,800 people annually. Claymobile serves as a national model for community engagement and is recognized as one of the region's most cost-effective arts education opportunities that prioritizes equitable access to the arts. Our talented, deeply invested artist-educator staff include Nitza Walesca, Maria Albornoz, Abby O’Brien, Laure Krumenacker, FAO Schwarz Fellow Kayla Johnson, and Community Engagement Manager Julie Rosen.
The Claymobile Creations Exhibition showcases work from our fall 2023 residencies, including K-12th grade students and adults inspired by regional Philadelphia cuisine.
