During the year-long celebration of our 50th anniversary, The Clay Studio is proud to present Our Community, a biennial, open call exhibition that highlights the inspiring work being made by artists who are part of The Clay Studio as Students, Associate Artists, Interns, Staff, Board, and Teaching Artists. The work on view encompasses the range of what inspires our artists, including: global cultures, traditional techniques, 3D printing, slip casting, installation art, humor, and political activism. The final participant in the Our Community exhibition is you, the viewer. Our audience is another essential group in The Clay Studio community.
The Clay Studio inspires curiosity and discovery around the art and craft of clay, drawing together students, artists, and an engaged public into a welcoming community. Every day, in our classrooms, studios, galleries, and neighborhoods, we deepen the connection between people and clay.
The Clay Studio serves over 600 students each term. Other artists in the building include 30 staff members, 42 teaching artists, 40 Associate Artists, and 27 interns. It is a pleasure to see artwork by our whole community together in the gallery. Join us to see the incredibly talented artists who call The Clay Studio their artistic home.
