Watershed Benefit: Organic Matters

Nov 1st - Nov 24th, 1996

The Clay Studio is pleased to announce "Organic Matters". This exhibition will be on display in the Arcadia Gallery of the Clay Studio during the month of November. "Organic Matters" is the final exhibit in "10 Years of Fire", an exhibition series celebrating the tenth anniversary of Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.

Watershed, found in coastal Maine, provides free residencies to ceramic artists for the purpose of developing a specific body of work or special project. Watershed gives artists room, board, and studio space in a rural setting, allowing them to work away from the distractions of everyday life. An old brick factory on the premises provides the studio space.

Almost seventy functional and sculptural ceramists from around the country will be submitting work to this eight part series. Other exhibits will take place in New York City, Scottsdale, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and Seattle, each part having a different theme. Organic Matters will be the final exhibit of "10 Years of Fire".

Featuring works by Barry Bartlett, Lynn Duryea, Chris Gustin, Patricia Hollingsworth, Tom Latka, Elizabeth MacDonald, George Mason, Janice Millman, Liz Quackenbush, Annabeth Rosen, Chris Russell, Dale Shuffler, Vicky Smith, Johnathan Wilson, and Betsy Wolfston.
