A Philadelphia institution with a long-standing reputation as a force for good, The Clay Studio has been supporting artists and working closely with communities to keep the arts alive and thriving in our city since 1974. When five artist friends founded The Clay Studio, they never dreamed that it would turn into the robust organization it has become. Over the past 50 years, The Clay Studio has welcomed countless artists into its studios, has graduated over 150 artists from its world-renowned Resident Artist Program, launched multiple careers, and changed the landscape of Craft Art in the United States.
