Your donation supports Claymobile in the community

Since 1994, the Claymobile Program has brought hands-on ceramic art education to 50,000 at-risk, low-income youth and families in Philadelphia. Today, the program runs year-round, sending professional teaching artists for one-day workshops or multi-day artistic residencies at 120 partner sites, reaching more than 6,000 participants annually. In our fleet of two vans, we bring all the necessary materials—clay, glazes, tools, and tarps—directly to each site with curriculum ideas flexible enough to meet our partners’ varied educational needs.

Art education is no longer guaranteed in an urban school’s curriculum. Art is a critical component of a holistic education, building essential skills for personal, academic, and professional growth that support a successful transition into adulthood. Students and families in low-income communities are not equally experiencing these opportunities. The Claymobile is an innovative solution to this issue in Philadelphia.

A contribution of $3,300 fully underwrites a six-session Claymobile residency at a Philadelphia school, community center, or social services agency. A contribution of $750 fully funds a one-day Claymobile workshop at a local library, neighborhood festival, or community garden. A contribution in any amount ensurea the ongoing success of this program!
